A wooden advent calendar
What could be more wonderful than waiting for Santa to come by opening a small box in your advent calendar every day in December? In this version, no chocolate, but wooden cards and figurines, to recreate our iconic tactile recognition game "Touch and Find".
Your child can also use the wooden figurines in free play, and invent pretty stories at the foot of the tree.
A wooden recognition game
With its colorful wooden pieces and its fun and simple rules, our "Touch and Find" is a must-have for family play afternoons. Use the small fabric bag to slip your hand in and guess the shapes without seeing them. It also allows for easy storage. The cards can also be used to play bingo, and the large wooden pieces are suitable for the hands of the little ones.
Multiple benefits for child development
Our "Touch and Find" will help your child develop their fine motor skills. By plunging his hand into the fabric bag, he will have to use his sense of touch, a sense that is little used on a daily basis (much less than sight and hearing). By describing what he is touching, your child will also develop his language: is the piece small, round, very soft, or on the contrary, large, rectangular? Our recognition game will encourage his ability to take his time before acting, to observe and concentrate. He will also have to accept losing or winning and will have to be patient throughout the game.
Rules of the game
The goal is simple: you have to find the piece indicated on the card drawn in the bag. Much more complicated than it seems, because some pieces look the same and watch out for the trap piece! The game is accompanied by progressive rules that allow children to progress as their abilities improve. As a bonus, you can play lotto! The simple and fun rules make our "Touch and Find" one of the first board games, easily accessible for children from 2 years old.
